AVERILL PARK SEPTIC SERVICE RECOGNIZES
THE VALUE OF MULTI-TALENTED STAFF

Walking the line between having enough employees and needing more . . . the challenge is nothing new to successful businesses.  Averill Park Septic found an inspiring solution.  Their family business is comprised of owner, Dave Lobdell and his wife, Beth, their three children: Kassie, David and Lee, Lee’s wife - Julie, and valued long time staff members Brian and Tory who feel like part of the family.

With a reputation for quality, there is no shortage of work on their plate.  However, they are unwilling to sacrifice workmanship just to get projects done faster.  So, what do they do to maximize their efficiency?  Something most companies wouldn’t think of. They pull the wild card.

Kassie (Lobdell) Gibson is no stranger to a jobsite.  Though the majority of their customers only know her from communication with the office, over the years she’s racked up many hours with Dad & brothers doing repair work, installations, drain cleaning, shuttling vehicles and even making small scale deliveries of topsoil, stone or gravel to customers in the Capital District.

“There’s no shame in being a female working hands-on in a construction or trade job”, says Kassie.   “I enjoy the variation of tasks and surroundings when I work outside of the office, plus I feel a much greater sense of accomplishment when I have put time in on the job.”  The latest talent to add to her resume . . . a Commercial Driver’s License.  If you ask her, she will tell you she wants to set an example for the family’s next generation.  “The sky is the limit for our kids, the majority of which are girls” she laughs.  “Their parents and grandparents will support and encourage them the same way they have me.  My Dad has always taught me to do things the same way he taught my brothers, I was never made to believe I couldn’t just because I was a girl.”
